The Count of Monte Cristo

Again another fave book of mine! How did I get to know about this book, let alone reading it.

My best friend seduced the wonderfulness of the count to my ears…she practically pitched me this book and since I trust her judgement on things, I said why not, and off I went downloading.

Just a lil review of ”TCOMC” and to recommend yet another beautifully written book by Alexandre Dumas:

This is a story of a young boy, Edmond Dantes. Handsome, skillful, innocent and eager to live life to the fullest with a dream to help change the sad story of the very poor background he was born into. In love with a beautiful girl and about to jump the broom…

…only to be thrown into prison for his naivety and loyalty. How this young boy whose dreams were crushed right before his eyes without any idea of where help will come from, rose to becoming one of the most powerful men to be reckoned with amidst the twist and turns in the French history is what will keep you up all night, burning candles to get through to all the chapters on ‘THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO’ by Alexandre Dumas is worth reading!

TRUST and THANK ME LATER!!!

  1. I’ve heard many times of this book, an old classic, but have never read it. So thanks for the review. One thing I wondered, is it a fast-moving story, or is it written in that old writing style such as Charles Dickens wrote, with much description and extra details?

By the way, all the best with your new blog. I’ve been blogging since Jan 2012 and have enjoyed it very much.

    • Truly an old classic! I haven’t read any Dickens’ works but my friend compared both and said it’s less severe than Dickens’.
You’ll not regret reading this one I promise!
